About the Author
Meenakshi Mukerji (Adhikari) was introduced to origami in early childhood by her uncle Bireshwar Mukhopadhyay. She rediscovered origami in its modular form as an adult quite by chance in 1995, when she was living in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended a modular origami class taught by Doug Philips and ever since she has been folding modular origami and displaying it on her very popular website www.origamee.net. In 2005, Origami USA presented her with the Florence Temko award for generously sharing her origami work on her website. In April 2007, A K Peters published her first book, Marvelous Modular Origami, soon followed by her books Ornamental Origami: Exploring 3D Geometric Designs and Origami Inspirations. She has been a featured artist and a special guest at various origami conventions both in the US and abroad. Meenakshi was born and raised in Kolkata, India. She obtained her BS in electrical engineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and then came to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in computer science at Portland State University, Oregon. After successful completion of her studies, she joined the software industry and worked for more than a decade. She is now at home in California with her husband and two sons to enrich their lives, to create her own origami designs, and to author origami books. People who have provided her with much origami inspiration and encouragement are Rosalinda Sanchez, David Petty, Francis Ow, Rona Gurkewitz, Robert Lang, Rachel Katz, Ravi Apte, and the numerous visitors of her website.

Nice book but all black in white inside-no colored photos

The book does its job but wasn't happy to see no colored photos of the models inside and not every model is pictured inside which also took me by surprise. When they say don't judge a book by its cover it means exactly that. The cover looks great on this book but could be better.

Difficult!

Very cool book. Reasonably clear diagrams. Both the folding and the assembly of these models are very complicated and time consuming. A typical model requires 30 or so pieces of paper with advanced folding techniques and then an even more difficult assembly of the pieces.
The results are spectacular, though. Just make sure you have plenty of good paper In multiple colors.

a wonderful book

I have all the books of Meenakshi Mukerji, and I think this is the best. The models are easy to fold and beauty to see when they are finished.I hope there will be more books after this one.
